The idea for doing this temple walk came from the John Rowe Moyle story. Brother Moyle was a stonecutter for the Salt Lake Temple; he carved “Holiness to the Lord”. Brother Moyle walked from Alpine to the Salt Lake Temple weekly for many decades. Start time: 7:00 a.m. ~~~~~~~Average miles per hour is between two and three
Full Support Stations include bathrooms, first aid, water, and fuel

1. Meet at SW parking lot of Temple and Stake center---Head SOUTH to Coyote Hollow Court and the Coyote Trail Head

2. Enter trail then take the first RIGHT and head toward Bountiful Shoreline Trail (BST) (0.13 miles)
TURN RIGHT or WEST onto BST (0.56) at the fork, stay to the LEFT heading toward Potato Hill Trail (PHT) (0.48) Total to PHT-(1.27 miles)

3. Proceed SOUTH through the tunnel onto Ann’s trail continues on Ann’s trail taking a SHARP LEFT onto Suncrest Loop. If you come to a fork with the trail sign indicating: ANN’S TRAIL / MAPLE HOLLOW DOWNHILL TRAIL, you have gone about 15 yards to far TURN AROUND!
At the top of Suncrest loop, take a LEFT then walk 20 feet then TURN RIGHT continuing on Suncrest loop.
This portion of the trail is a switchback and has many forks….. STAY LEFT AT EVERY FORK!

4. At the top is the Suncrest Trail Head. Continue RIGHT or SOUTH on the dirt path. Proceed through the tunnel onto the Maple Hollow Trail (this begins a continuous downhill) (between 3-4 mile point)

5. The trail ends at Chimney Stone Ct. and the road portion of the walk begins. (5 mile point)

6. Proceed onto Chimney Stone Court. TURN RIGHT at Stone Road. TURN LEFT at Brookings Drive S and continue to Suncrest Drive.  (5.88 mile point)

7.  At Suncrest Drive TURN RIGHT-heading south—Pay attention to the fire hydrants on the east side of the road…. Count 3
Proceed to Fire Hydrant (3rd one from Brookings/Suncrest Dr-East side road) At the Fire Hydrant enter the dirt road (east side of road) and head south

8. The dirt road ends at: N Atlas Drive (About 7.50 mile point)     Continue South. TURN RIGHT onto N Cyprus Drive
4-WHEEL DRIVER SUPPORT #6

9. At Westfield-- 11800 N TURN LEFT and proceed east.
VEHICLE ROAD SUPPORT FOR THE REMAINDER OF THE WALK

10. At N 6000 W St. TURN RIGHT.

11. Proceed to the Stake Center (right side of road): 11605 North 6000 West Street, Highland   (About 8.0 mile point)
Continue walking South on N 6000 W St to HWY-92

12. At HWY-92 Cross to the south side of HWY-92 then TURN LEFT or East. We encourage all walkers to take advantage of the BATHROOMS along this road. (About 9.0 mile point)

13. At N 4800 W St (New name: North County BLVD. Previous name: Lone Peak HWY—TURN RIGHT or South. (About 10. 0 mile point) Head South on N 4800 W St (New name: North County BLVD) (about 3.0 miles---remaining)

14. Seminary Building (West Side of Road, North of Lone Peak High School)

Lunch provided from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Individual walkers must provide own transportation to the Draper temple (absolutely no parking available at the temple), throughout the route and home

Tips for “A Walk to Remember”

What to Eat/Drink before the big WALK and a few other items!!!
·         Make sure you are drinking plenty the ENTIRE day before!  You should need to go potty every 2 hours to be fully hydrated and it should be fairly clear in color. 
·         Eating—make sure you are eating plenty of calories for two days before we walk.  Try to make sure it’s not fast food junk calories—eat good food calories.  The kind mom makes!
·         Eat a BIG breakfast the morning of to start off your body right.
·         A water bottle you can carry with you so you can drink as needed (32 oz. per hour).
·         Make sure to have snacks or eat at EVERY aid stop***.     You need to eat at least 200 to 300 calories every hour to keep your body happy and full on energy to make the trip after the first hour of walking.
What to Wear
·         Comfortable clothes—nothing too tight.
·         Avoid 100% cotton shirts (don’t need to worry with Temple walk shirts) and 100% cotton shorts or pants if at all possible.
           ***Try out all items you will be wearing BEFORE day of walk.
·         ***Bring an extra pair of socks (non cotton). Length-may want to cover ankle
           Suggestions: Micro fiber blend, wool blend. Can be purchased at any local running store, Costco, or REI.
Provided at Support Stations:
        Water and electrolyte drink @ every stop
        Fruit and trail mix @ every stop
        Possibly potato chips or beef jerky
        First aid supplies including: Athletic tape used for blisters and 
        general aches and pains
        Sting Relief
Toilet paper
Glide for chaffing
Sun Screen
Wipes
Lunch for walkers—at end of walk
Personal Items to Bring Day of Walk
Fanny pack or small back pack (try out during your workouts)
Athletic tape works great for blisters. 
Sunscreen, sun glasses, hat & Chapstick to protect yourself.
